3 weeks agoOn January 8, 2026, an incident occurred at the Selgros branch in Neu-Isenburg that I, as a business owner, find completely unacceptable. My shopping cart was full, I was at the checkout, and I wanted to pay for my groceries in cash. I intended to pay a portion of the total, approximately €30, with €2 coins. This involved about 15 coins, well below the known limit of 50 coins per transaction. I planned to pay the remaining amount in cash with banknotes. The cashier refused to accept the coins. Even though I explicitly pointed out to the employee that retailers accept up to 50 coins, he persisted, essentially saying, "No, I don't accept that, I'm not obligated to." The refusal was therefore not due to ignorance, but despite my explanation of the legal regulations. I found his behavior disrespectful and unprofessional. As a result, I abandoned my entire shopping trip, left the cart at the checkout, and left the store. After inquiring with a supervisor, I was also told that Selgros is "only obligated to accept coins up to €50," which, in my opinion, is misleading, as the regulation refers to the number of coins and not a specific euro amount. Regardless of the legal assessment, such treatment of customers—especially business owners—is unacceptable. I expect accurate information, trained staff, and respectful behavior from a wholesaler. For these reasons, I give zero stars.

a month agoGreat selection, especially of meat. Friendly staff. We ordered a duck and fish for Christmas yesterday and can pick everything up on December 23rd. Excellent service. This year we bought a goose. Shopping here is great again.
